AFTER SURVIVAL™
A Memoir of Choice, Consequence, and the Life That Followed
At ten years old, a steel rod entered my forehead and passed completely through my brain. Survival was only the beginning.
Some stories entertain. Others stay with you.
AFTER SURVIVAL™ is more than the story of a childhood accident. It's about faith, family, forgiveness, resilience, accountability, and the choices that shape the lives we leave behind.
Survival
A childhood accident that should have ended everything.
Recovery
The years of rebuilding physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Legacy
The story became something worth sharing.
Meet Shane
At ten years old, a life-changing accident altered the course of Shane Neilsen's future. The years that followed became a journey of recovery, faith, family, and discovering that survival was only the beginning.
Today, Shane is co-founder of Neilsen Storyworks and author of AFTER SURVIVAL™. His passion is helping people recognize that every life holds a story worth preserving and that the experiences shaping us today can become lasting gifts for future generations.
That belief is at the heart of Neilsen Storyworks.
Stories Matter. Legacies Last.™
The accident changed my life. Choosing what
came next changed who I became.
